The Eyes of Orson Welles, a documentary by Irish filmmaker Mark Cousins, is featured in the Portrait section of the 12th Iran International Documentary Film Festival, Cinema Verite.

This 115 minutes documentary depicts a different image of the renowned film director Orson Welles. With unique access to hundreds of Orson Welles' private sketches and paintings, Mark Cousins delves in the depths of this legendary director and the actor’s visual world to present a never-seen-before image of this artist.

Mark Cousins, born in 1965, is an Irish writer and filmmaker from Northern Ireland who lives in Edinburgh, Scotland. With his 15-hour documentary TV series, The Story of Film: An Odyssey, he won the Stanley Kubrick Prize. A Story of Children and Film, I Am Belfast, Atomic, Living in Dread and Promise, and Stockholm My Love are some of his other documentaries.
