William Friedkin, born in 1935 in the United States, won two Oscars for The French Connection (1971) and was nominated for best director for The Exorcist (1973). He has also won the Golden Globe for these two famous films. Friedkin's latest film, Killer Joe, was screened at 2011 Venice International Film Festival.
