Cannes’s Best Film in Cinema Verite

Beyond My Grandfather Allende, the best documentary film in Cannes 2015 will be screened in the 9th edition of Cinema Verite.

The synopsis of this 98 minute documentary film is as follows: "On 11th September 1973, Salvador Allende, the first democratically elected socialist president in Latin America, was brought down in a putsch by the Chilean military and murdered the same day. He became a symbol for democracy and human rights. The man himself virtually disappeared behind his iconisation. Marcia Tambutti Allende, his granddaughter, rediscovers Allende."
Beyond My Grandfather Allende has won the best documentary film award in Festival de Cannes 2015 and was selected for highly-acclaimed festivals such as IDFA (Holland), Bussan (South Korea) and Hamburg (Germany).
The 9th Cinema Verite will be held Dec 13-19 in Tehran.
